Camden Lock Market

The Camden Lock Market is a group of markets in London. It’s famous, because it is the largest street market in the United Kingdom. At the moment it is the 4th most visited tourist attraction in London with 500 000 visitors every week. It is located in Camden Town. This is in the north-west of London. The next Underground station is “Camden Town”. At the six different markets you can buy many different things, for example clothes, furniture, or you can go to pubs or to clubs. Camden Lock Market has a long history: In 1974 there was a weekly market near Camden Lock. Since then other markets have been added. In the 1980s the Camden Market began to get bigger . Because of this a market hall opened. Because of the positive developments Camden Market grew even more. In 2003 more areas were decorated. These days you can buy quite everything. You have a great range of shops, restaurants, pups, clubs which offer many different kinds of goods of good quality. On 9th February 2009 (around half past seven) a big fire broke out in the Camden Canal Market. The fire came from an explosion of liquid petroleum gas.
In our opinion it is worth visiting the Camden Lock Market, because in this group of various market stalls, restaurants, cafes, clubs and pubs everyone will find something that he or she is pleased with.

Our trip to London and our visit at Camden Lock Market

Altogether our trip was amazing and we all had great fun. We saw a lot of interesting sights for example Mme Tussaud’s or the London Eye. But the best was, that we saw the Queen at Windsor Castle, she has been there, cause of a state visit. On the third day we walked (!) to Camden Lock Market along one of the canals. We were impressed by what Camden Lock Market was like. We would never have thought that it is such a cool place. It was awesome. You can buy there nearly everything and so we bought some freaky clothes there . Most of us also bought very funny glasses. Our visit to Camden Lock Market was a great experience and we all would visit it again.
